The Shaunessy Home Process
To ensure a simple, seamless, and enjoyable journey, we’ve built our process on a highly integrated and efficient digital platform. This private, unified system allows for deep collaboration and complete data ownership, enabling us to deliver a meticulously personalized remote experience while preserving our signature personal touch.
Step 1: The Initial Spark
Your journey begins the moment you express interest through our website. You’ll receive a warm welcome from us, followed by a short series of personalised emails designed to introduce our philosophy, showcase successful projects, and share testimonials from past clients. This helps you get to know us better before we get to know you.
Step 2: The “Project Starter” – Sharing Your Vision
This is our comprehensive, multi-step ‘Project Starter’ online questionnaire where the magic begins. Far from a simple form, it’s an insightful and even enjoyable first step, designed as a guided, conversational experience to capture your vision, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences in nuanced detail. We use special tools that allow you to react to images for style discovery, upload photos of your own space, and even sketch a simple floor plan. It even includes features like ‘Save & Finish Later’ to respect your time and prevent loss of progress, ensuring we capture every important detail from the very beginning.
Step 3: The Design Phase – Where Ideas Come to Life
With a deep understanding of your goals, our designers get to work using professional design software to create your design assets. This can include mood boards to capture the feeling, detailed 2D floor plans for layout, and photorealistic 3D renderings for a complete vision. To make revisions seamless and efficient, we use a dedicated visual feedback tool that allows you to click directly on any element in the design—a lamp, a rug, a color—to leave precise, pinned comments.
Step 4: Collaboration & Project Management
Once your project is underway, you will receive access to a secure, private online portal (FluentBoards). This centralized hub is where we track progress through clear visual stages, share all deliverables (mood boards, 2D layouts, photorealistic 3D renderings), and keep every conversation organized. This eliminates scattered emails and ensures all project information is in one, easy-to-access place, enhancing transparent collaboration.
Step 5: Sourcing the Perfect Pieces
Once the design is finalized, you’ll receive a final, clickable shopping list. This will provide direct links to purchase the selected items, including exclusive access to curated pieces from The White Oak Cottage’s online showroom, making the procurement process simple and efficient.
Step 6: Seamless Financials
For your convenience, our system provides integrated and secure payment processing for all design fees. Upon successful payment, a professional PDF invoice is automatically generated and emailed to you for your records, keeping the financial aspect of your project clear and straightforward, and contributing to our streamlined processes.
